Product Description
DOC 103 - Oil Stop Epoxy Primer is intended to be used in areas where heavy oil has had time to accumulate in large amounts. Oil and grease can be a bond breaker between epoxy and concrete. Further complications arise when oil wicks up through the epoxy finish. Applying DOC 103 will help to eliminate these issues.
Application: DOC 103 should only be applied after all oil and grease have been removed by cleaning and degreasing. Use DOC 100 cleaner or other comparable product. (Steps 1-3 can be accomplished for the entire garage, apply oil stop epoxy to affected areas only).
- Clean area with degreaser, rinse with water.
- Apply an acid bath of 3:1 muriatic acid and water to the affected area. Scrub with a broom or brush.
- Neutralize the acid mixture with baking soda. Let dry 24 hours.
- Apply DOC 103 oil stop epoxy to affected areas only.
- DOC 103 should be allowed to dry to touch about 3-4 hours. Floor is now ready to be coated with epoxy finish.
Packaged: 2 quart kit (1 quart part A and 1 quart part B) mix. Enough to do any normal garage installation. Mix only the amount you need. Mixing: 1:1 DOC 103 may be brushed or rolled. Comes in dark brown color and is watery when mixed to achieve superior penetration of the substrate.
